As we enter a new year and review it is amazing to see that last year we broke through the 10,000 parcel ceiling!
In December alone ReadiFood delivered 1,050 parcels to local residents in need.
It really is quite remarkable that a relatively small band of volunteers, made even smaller by COVID restrictions, were able to deliver 60% more parcels than the year before.
Just as amazing that the people of Reading supplied the food and other basic items that we needed.
Of course we do not celebrate the increase in demand since every parcel represents a person who has found themselves in need of help through sickness, loss of employment or other problem.
10,000 parcels takes a whole lot of food to be donated, sorted, packed and delivered.
